What is Tailwind GPS?
Tailwind GPS scores your cycling routes hour by hour against the forecast, so you know the best time to ride and which way round to ride it.
Tailwind GPS is a ride planner built around the weather. Bring in a route, and Tailwind scores it for every hour of the day against the wind, rain and temperature along the way, at your pace. You can see at a glance when a ride will feel fast and when it will be a slog.
What you can do
- Build a library of rides. Draw a route, generate one with AI, upload a GPX file, import from Strava or pick from popular rides nearby.
- See the best time to go. Every ride gets a Tailwind Score from 0 to 100 for each departure time.
- Understand the ride before you leave. Charts show where you will have a tailwind, where the climbs are and when the rain arrives.
- Follow the route. Use turn-by-turn navigation in your phone browser, or send a GPX file to your bike computer.
- Ride with friends. Share a route, or start a Ride Huddle and let the group vote.

How much it costs
Tailwind is free for up to 3 active routes with a 3-day forecast. Pro adds 60 routes, a 14-day forecast and more, and starts with 30 days free. See Free and Pro compared.
