Create and manage routes
Draw, generate, import, save and organise the rides you score.
- Create a routeDraw a cycling route on the map in Tailwind GPS, step by step. Click along the roads you want to ride and it follows the cycling network.
- Route drawing toolsWhat Follow cycle paths, Freehand, Undo, Loop and Clear do when you draw a route, and when to use each one.
- Save a routeName your new route and select Save and score. Tailwind scores it against the forecast and adds it to your rides.
- Generate a route with AILet Tailwind build a loop or point-to-point cycling route for you. Set a start, a distance and an optional direction.
- Upload a GPX fileBring in rides from Garmin, Wahoo, Komoot and more. Upload one or several GPX files and Tailwind scores each one hour by hour.
- Import routes from StravaConnect Strava to bring your saved routes and recent rides into Tailwind GPS. Access is read-only and Tailwind never posts to Strava.
- Discover rides near youSearch a city or region to find popular cycling routes nearby, preview them and import any you like into your rides.
- Find and filter your ridesSearch, sort and filter your list of rides by score, distance or elevation, and see which ride Tailwind recommends for your chosen time.
- Rename a routeGive a ride a new name from the list of rides or from its details.
- Download a GPX fileDownload any ride as a GPX file to load onto a bike computer or use in another app.
- Reverse a routeSee whether a ride scores better the other way round, then flip it so that the start and finish swap.
- Deactivate or reactivate a routeFree up a ride slot without losing the route. Deactivated rides stay in your Archived filter and can come back at any time.
- Route limitsHow many routes you can keep on each plan, what happens when you reach the limit, and how to get more for free.
- Optimise a routeRoute optimisation looks for a better way round your ride for the wind at your chosen time, then saves it as a new ride if you like it.
